Hi Friends,

I'm Dr.Shannon

I was born in New York, raised in Kalamazoo, and I have lived in Metro Detroit for over 20 years. I am the daughter of two immigrant parents from Panama and Haiti, and I bring a deep appreciation for culture, connection, and lived experience into the work I do with clients. I received my doctorate from Eastern Michigan University and have practiced as a therapist for 18 years. Through Ephphatha Counseling, I come alongside women, teens, families, and individuals as they navigate emotional overwhelm, relationships, communication, life transitions, and their personal healing process. My approach is thoughtful, customized, and supportive. I believe therapy should not feel cookie-cutter. It should give you room to be heard, understood, and supported in a way that meets you where you are.

Counseling with a human touch

** Period Poverty Initiative: Period products are a luxury to some, and not every girl has access to pads, tampons, feminine wash, etc. Here at Ephphatha Counseling we donate some of our proceeds to help end period poverty domestically and internationally.
